If we were sitting at a Starbucks drinking our favorite hot or iced beverages together right now, I would ask you one simple question.
“How do you see your life right now?”
I’m curious because I know that our perspective – how we see things – can dramatically shape our well being and how we respond to what is going on.
Do you see your situation as an uphill battle without a rope or do you have hope and confidence in the Lord?
In 2 Kings 6, the prophet Elisha and his servant appear to be in a dire situation. A huge has army surrounded them because the king of Aram was tired of Elisha foiling their plans to attack Israel. When Elisha’s servant saw that the city was surrounded by the Arameans he was afraid and ran to Elisha to tell him what was going on.
“And [then] Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha”. 2 Kings 6:17
As a child of God, we must remember that we have chariots of fire surrounding us and all that concerns us. The Lord of Hosts outnumbers, out-maneuvers and outlasts all that comes against us.
Dear Lord, please open our eyes today so that we may see. We thank you Lord. In your Holy name, amen.
